I remember being at Jane & John's one weekend when you were riding a bike and you came off and cut your chin quite badly. It was the first time a really noticed how different you skin was when you cut yourself. Your cuts seemed to open very wide. Anyway we decided you need to go to A&E so off we trots and you and I sat in the waiting room for about 3 hours. When we saw a nurse she said you would be OK and put some steri-strips on your chin. As we walked out of the A&E door you looked up at me and said look dad. Well I thought that was a waste of time, you had pulled the ster-istrips off. You didn’t seem to mind and we went back to Jane & John’s There were a few occasions when you cut yourself and it looked bad, Whenever that happened, such as when you were older and cut your leg on the pedal of your bike I offered the option of going to A&E and waiting a long time to be seen or being sellotaped up by me.
